Q

What is mucus

A

Produced by goblet cells which trap the bacteria

17
Q

What does the nose do

A

It’s filters for air because at the atmosphere is full of pollutants passes over the most mucus membranes to moistens the air and it warms the air as it flows over the warm blood capillaries

18
Q

What are the trachea and bronchi lined with

A

Ciliated epithelium

19
Q

What is inhalation

A

Lungs expand, diaphragm contracts and flattens, ribs pulled outwards by intercostal muscles, volume increases and pressure decreases, lungs inflate

20
Q

What is exhalation

A

Lungs deflate, diaphragm relaxes and becomes convex, ribs pulled inwards by intercostal muscles, volume decreases and pressure increases
