What does breathing involve
Inhalation = taking it into the lungs
Exhalation = the removal of air from lungs
Brings oxygen and Carbon dioxide out 
What is ventilation
Breathing (muscular movements which keep the respiratory surface supplied with oxygen)
What is gas exchange
Exchange of gases across a respiratory surface
What is the epiglottis
Flat that closes the windpipe whilst eating and helps you swallow 
What is the larynx
Voice box
What is the alveoli
Sacs in your lungs that take up the oxygen you breathe in. Where the lungs and blood exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide
What is the trachea
Windpipe
What is the diaphragm
Muscle that helps you inhale and exhale
What are the bronchiole
Branches of the air tubes
What is the bronchus
Away from the trachea to the lungs
What are plural membranes
Outside lining of the lungs and the inside lining of the thoracic cavity
What is plural fluid
Fluid inside the thoracic cavity
What are intercostal muscles
Form the chest wall
How does the air get to the alveoli
There is inhaled goes down the trachea from the nose to the bronchi down the bronchioles to the alveoli
What is cilia
Microscopic hairs that move mucus upwards to be swallowed
