What are common muscular imbalances with trochanteric bursitis?

A
  • tight TFL/ IT band –> Escessive hip IR
  • weak external rotators
  • may see foot pronation
  • slouched posture
  • rectus femoris and hamstrings imblanced
  • stretched ilopsoas
  • weak gluteus medius
  • weak gluteus maximus
  • may see IR femur, genu recurvatum, pes valgus
  • flight back posture
  • tight gluteus maximus, tight IT band
  • *overuse of TFL rather than gluteus medius
  • *overuse of hamstrings rather than glut max
