Mamparang Formation
Have an ability to absorb radioactive and metallic contaminants, and keep them locked in a safe storage area
Apatite
The primary ore of arsenic metals. Arsenic metal is used to produce specialty alloys; arsenic is toxic to many organisms and therefore can be used for insecticides, herbicides, pesticides, chemical weaponsand other poisons
Arsenopyrite
Used as a weighted filler for paper, cloth, and ruber. The paper used to make some playing card has _______ packed between the paper fibers which gives the paper high density
Barite
Used in drilling muds to lubricate and coolthe cutting tools, to remove cuttings, and to help prevent blowouts
Bentonite
Known for its sugary sweet taste and some of its common uses are in X-rays and flourescent lights
Beryllium
The only mineral used for the production of strontium, which is then used in color television pictures tube, in fireworks, marine flares, and computer monitors
Celestite
A source of chromium and is used for the production of stainless steel to induce hardness, toughness and chemical resistance
Chromite
Usedfor invisible ink. It is brittle and it resembles iron
Cobalt
Commonly used as abbrasive on evrything from sand paper to large machines used in machining metals, platsics, and wood
Corundum
Used in glass and ceramic industries (pottery, porcelain, and enamelware)
Feldpsar
Used in water filtration, jewelry, and abbrasives used in wood furniture
Garnet
A major Ni ore, it resist corrosion and is mainly used in making alloys such as stainless teel
Garnierite
Used in dentistry and medicine, jewelry and arts, medallions and coins, and ingots. Also used in electronic instruments and computer circuitry
Gold
Used as lead in penicls, it was also used to make graphene sheets which are 100 times stronger and 10 times lighter than steel
Graphite
Used for making plaster of paris, cement, and glass
Gypsum
Used in the human and animal diet, primarily as food seasoning and as food preservation, to prepare sodium hydroxide, soda ash, and caustic soda
Halite
Imortant to the production of ceramics and porcelain, but its greatest demand is for the paper industry to produce a glossy paper as is used in most magazines
Kaolinite
Important material compnent of power plants as it is used to generate electricity and also used in compasses
Magnetite
One of the oldest green pigments to be used in paintings. It is an excellent material for producing a powdered pigment
Malachite
The main ore of molybdenum, used as a dry lubricant resistant to high temperatures
Molybdenite
A white mica. It is ideal as an electrical insulator in high temperature power cables. Also used in capacitors and circuit brakers
Muscovite
Used for the production of oil cloth, semiconductors, photoconductors. Historically used as a pigment, poison, ingridient for fireworks and explosives
Orpiment
Use for sulfuric acid productions
Pyrite
Used as oscillators inradios, watches, and pressure gauges. It is also used in the manufacture of glass, abbrasives and refractories.
Quartz
Used as a coating in welding rods, some are used in the production of pigments for paints
Rutile
Used as a currency and in jewelry making. Also used in medicine due to its antimicrobial properties
Silver
Used in galvanized iron, brass and batteries. The mineral is also used as mildew-resistant element in certain paints
Sphalerite
Used in the manufacture of matches, fireworks, and percussion caps and was used by the ancients as a cosmetic to increas the apparent size of the eye
Stibnite
The chief ingredient of pottasium supplements, which are used to treat or prevent low potassium conditions such as hypokalemia
Sylvite
Primarily used in production of paper. It can also be usedin cosmetics, agriculture, and ceramics
Talc
Used in paper products, laundry detrgent and baking soda
Trona
Used in watse water clean up and since it can absorb ammonia, it is used in kitty litter and reducing other animal smells
Zeolite
