Manual in-line stabilization –
2 people (2 expendable people)
* No TRACTION
1st person stabilizes and aligns head in neutral position
WITHOUT cephalad traction
2nd person will stabilize both shoulders
Remove anterior C-collar
If basal skull fracture what is contraindicated
Fracture
Cricothyrotomy
Scarring when left in for too long,
LARYNGEAL TRAUMA is relative contraindications.
RSI if no contraindications
LMA – does not protect trachea
Limited mandibular movement
Don’t forget suction
Bleeding, debris, secretions
