Erythema Toxicum Neonatorum (Etox)
seen in full term infants, presents as red macules/papules/pustules/wheals anywhere except palms/soles, usually presents at 24-48 HOURS post partum—but can occur anytime within 2 weeks. it is self limited
Transient Neonatal Pustular Melanosis
typically seen in young, black newborn males. presents at birth or shortly thereafter. presents in 3 stages –> pustules, scale, and hyperpigmentation. it is self limited
Congenital Milia
any inclusion cysts. it is self limited
Bohn’s nodules/Epstein pearls
epstein - palatal raphe, Bohn - alveolar ridge
it is self limited
Eosinophilic pustulosis/folliculitis
pustules and erythema over scalp and face. has a waxing-waning course. usually presents at birth or days to weeks of age
other subtypes: HIV, neonatal, and folliculitis seen in Japanese men
Miliaria Crystallina
upper epidermis (s. corneum), related to heat, clear colored vesicles. self limited
Miliaria Rubra
lower epidermis, related to heat, erythematous papules. self-limited
