On a Post Maintenance prep, when doing centre cab inspections what do you have to do to so that all checks can be completed?
Trip 22Q6 Multiple Unit Relay CB
- so that centre cabs think they are not coupled
What pressures does the Brake test check?
What is the procedure?
Holding Pressure - 120
- by Reverser to FWD and setting pilot valve, then MCH to FULL SERVICE
Emergency Pressure - 210
- by MCH into EMERGENCY
Full Service Pressure - 190
- By MCH into FULL SERVICE and turn EMS from 2 to 1 to inhibit holding brakes
Return EMS back to 2 and observe BC pressure back to Holding Pressure
Return MCH to COAST and observe pressure remain at Holding Pressure
Place Reverser to neutral, release pilot valve and observe BC pressure goes to Emergency Pressure
What is the Emergency Stop Button Test checking for?
That BC pressure stays at EMERGENCY (210) when pilot valve is depressed
What is the Hand & Foot Pilot Valve Test checking for?
That when pilot valve is set BC have emergency pressure
When pilot valve is released BC have holding pressure
What is the Safety Loop Test checking for?
A short circuit in the Safety Loop
Emergency Auto Vigilance bypass test??
Used if defective:
Hand pilot valve
Foot pilot valve
Trip
Two positions - normal / bypass
Trip Apparatus Test
That emergency pressure doesn’t release until trip is reset.
VICERS Test
