Power train to 5kmh
Place MCH to Full Service
Observe braking effort in BC gauge (190kPa)
When do you do Running Brake Test?
First suitable opportunity prior to first required stop after the following:
Taking control of a train
Changing Ends
Following dividing/attaching
Transitioning from dry to wet rail
Following defect or alteration to train braking equipment (eg, bogie isolated)
How do you do a Running Brake Test?
Power train according to signal aspects/track speeds
Place MCH to minimum brake position - Observe braking effort (ammeter/BC gage)
Move MCH further into braking zone
Assess increase in braking effort
Return to Coast
