How do you prepare first cab for stabling?
MCH to COAST
Hand pilot released - observe emergency brake indicator light illuminated and 210BC pressure
Trip to RAISED
reverser to NEUTRAL
Remove keys and DTRS
Ensure equip turned off/closed/locked
Once exited first cab what do you do?
Exit B side
Check trip and front of train - markers RED, headlights off
Check brakes, graffiti, obvious faults
At centre cabs inspect trips, cables, couplers
What do you check in centre cabs?
Trip RAISED
Unnecessary equipment turned off
Doors, windows, blinds
What do you do when you reach trailing end?
Ensure in clear
Red markers on
No damage in front of train
What do you do in trailing Mc Cab?
High Voltage Presence & Energency Brake Applied status indicator lights illuminated. Bc pressure 210
Trip RAISED
Unnecessary equipment turned off
Blinds, doors, windows
Insert master control key
Press STABLE button.
- Observe 1or more Panto down light
- Wait 5 seconds
Remove key.
Observe all pantos down
Exit side B ensuring step light extinguished
Contact fleet
How long will red marker lights remain illuminated?
15 minutes.
On all cars
What do you do if over 25 degrees?
Leave pantos up
When you press the stable button what light extinguishes and what light illuminates?
Extinguish - high voltage presence
Illuminates - 1 or more Panto light down
How long after pressing stable light and both lights do their thing do you have to wait before removing key?
5 seconds
