Total internal reflection of Light Flashcards
1
Q
When refraction becomes reflection light…
A
travels from a more dense medium into a less dense medium e.g. glass to air.
2
Q
Give the three points on Total internal reflection of Light
A
- Angle of Incidence is less that the critical angle. (Most of the light is refracted)
- Angle of Incidence is equal to the critical angle (The refracted ray travels along the boundary)
- Angle of Incidence is greater than the critical angle (All light is reflected I=R)
3
Q
What does Total Internal Reflection of Light mean?
A
When refraction becomes reflection light travels from a more dense medium into a less dense medium
