The Motor Force Flashcards
What happens when a current carrying wire is placed inside a permanent magnetic field?
It experiences a force. This is because the wire’s magnetic field interacts with the permanent magnetic field. The ‘Motor’ force causes the wire to move
Give the points of Flemings Left hand Motor Rule
What are the energys?
Electric Energy - Kinetic Energy
How can you increase the speed?
How can you reverse the motor’s roatation?
- Reversing the Magnetic Field
- Reversing the Current
How does to D.C Electric Motor work?
As current flows throught the coil, it sides create a magnetic field which interacts with the permanent magnetic field
How do you make the D.C electirc motor rotate?
Use the Motor effect to make the coild of wire rotate
How does the coil rotate in the D.C electric motor?
A force acts on both sides on the coil such that one side is forced up and the other down - the coil rotates.
