Why were the Nazis anti semetic?
- nazis belonged to the aryan race and felt Jews were inferior
- blamed Jews for Germanyโs defeat in WW1 and the Great Depression
- felt they controlled too many top jobs like lawyers

Economic actions towards Jews
In 1933 Jews were banned from civil service jobs and key media jobs. Their ships were boycotted once a week
Nuremberg laws
Deprived of many political and economic rights. It was also illegal for Jews and aryans to get married or have sexual relations
How were Jews excluded from German life?
In 1935 Jews were excluded from parks, public places, cafes, swimming pools etc. in 1938 Jews were banned from legal practises and had to use new names - Israel for men and Sarah for women

Many Jews were attacked, killed, got their homes and shops destroyed and were sent to concentration camps by SS members on 9th-10th November 1938 in Paris. This happened because a Jew murdered a Nazi diplomat

Madagascar plan, einsatzgruppen, ghettos and the final solution eg the holocaust

This plan was to exile all Europeโs Jews to Madagascar. This was impossible as the British navy was blocking German ports
Einsatzgruppen (description and outcome)
SS rounded up Jews in Poland and executed them 1941-43. This was successful - 2 million Jews were murdered
Ghettos (description and outcome)
These were closed off cities where Jews lived. They couldnโt leave and were used for labour in factories. This was successful as poor living conditions and lack of food meant that many starved or died from diseases
The final solution (holocaust) (description and outcome)
During the WANNSEE CONFERENCE in 1942 the Nazis made the decision to kill Jewish people by sending them to extermination camps eg Auschwitz. This was successful as 6 million Jews died in the Nazi Holocaust
