Light pink
Normal moisture of mucous membrane:
Shiny and moist
Normal membrane vessels of mucous membrane:
They are slightly vissible
Normal surface of mucous membrane:
Smooth and intact
Normal surface of the mucous membrane of the conjunctiva:
Moderately ruffled
Normal capillary refil time of mucous membrane:
Less than 2 seconds, normal is 1 second
What does increased capillary refil time indicate?
Hypovolemia
Abnormal findings of mucous membrane:
- Pale
- Cyanotic
- Yellow
- dirty red
- Anaemic
- Haermorrhages
- Dry
- Lesions
What will a dry mucous membrane indicate?
Shock
If there are lesions present, how to describe them?
