What is a Niche?
The position that a living thing occupies in a community
Abiotic Factors
Physical Factors that effect the light and distribution of organisms in a habitat (light, water etc)
Biotic Factors
Other living organism that effect the distribution of organisms in a habitat
Representative Sample
A sample that represents the whole population
Ecosystem
All living organisms in a given area, along the abiotic factors that influence them
Population
A group of organisms of the same species
Community
A group of organisms of different species that live in the same area
Habitat
The place where an organism lives
Evolution
A change in allele frequency in a population over time
Biodiversity
It is the variety of species that belong to every different group of organisms
Endemism
This where a species is specific to one location and won’t be found naturally anywhere else
Gene Pool
All of the alleles of all of the genes present in a population
