what is a force? (simply)
a push or a pull
where does reaction force act?
perpendicular to a surface and away (if the surface is horizontal the force would act vertically)
where does electrostatic force act?
between 2 charged objects
what do all objects with a weight feel?
a reaction force back from the surface it’s on
what do objects feel whilst moving through a fluid?
a drag force in the opposite direction to its motion
what are the 3 main ways friction occurs?
between solid surfaces that are gripping, between solid surfaces that are sliding past each other and ‘drag’ from fluids
how do you reduce friction between solids sliding past each other?
putting a lubricant between them
how do you reduce drag?
keeping the shape of the object streamlined
as speed increases, what happens to friction?
it increases
