Pharm - meds not recommended but can include benzodiazepines, antihistamines, antiemetics
Non pharm - positional maneuvers; self limiting. Usually resolves in 3 weeks.

rash with pustules in 3-4 days; days 7-10 crusting; scarring may last for months

postherpetic neuralgia which is pain longer than 90 days post onset of rash

antiviral within 72 hours of symptoms (valacyclovir or famicyclovir x 7 days); NSAIDs or acetaminophen for pain; severe pain oxycodone
