Positive for 3knuckle test

A

Positive sign client can only able to fit one knuckle or none at all between incisor. Seated or standing. With non dominant hand client insert the 2 knuckles on the open mouth (flexed proximal interphalangeal joints b/w upper and lower incisors). Then try three knuckles.

A

Assess for pain or tenderness in the TMJ are, created during wide mouth movements while making a sound

Deastasis Recti Test

A

Assess for Separation of rectus abdominis

How? Supine, knees bent, support abdomen with cross arms, tuck chin and raise head on exhalation. Positive if a bulge when muscles are parted.(gap)

A

Positive when client stop due to pain with opening mouth, unable to open mouth fully or flinches.

Client standing in front of therapist. Client take a deep breath, and says the word slowly as wide as possible during exhalation.

A

Supine, therapist observe flat the head of the table, client upside down face. Observe alignment of upper and lower incisors while client part lips with jaw close, open and close mandible. S-wobble= muscular dysfunction
