tissues 2 Flashcards
fluid connective tissie (bloo000dd)
matrix: plasma
-liquid and lacks fibers
fluid connective tissue: Haemopoietic tissue
-forms blood cells
-found in bone marrow
-types of bone marrow -> red: surrounded by a framework of reticular fibres. produces red and white cless
yelllow - yeloow adipose tissue
bone histology
Bone martix
->organic : collagen and proteoglycans
->inorganic: hydroxyapatite
-if mineral removed, bone –> bendable
-if collagen removed, bone —-> too brittle
Bone cells (osteoblasts) create the martix
formation of bones through ossification
ossification is when osteoblasts communicate through gap junctions. cells surrond themselves by matrix
osteocytes (stellate) maintain the matrix
mature bone cells. surrounded by martix but can make small amount of matrix to maintain it
bone cells osteoclasts (break the matrix down for remodelling)
-resorption of bone
woven and lamellar bone
woven bone - collagen fibres randomly formed
-during fetal development///during fracture repair
remodeling - removing old boen and adding new
-woven bone is remodeled into lamellar bone
lamellar bone - mature in sheets called lamellae.
spongy bone
-trabeculae: interconnecting rods or plates of bone. like scaffolding.
compact bone
-central canals: parallel to long axis
-osteon system: central canal, content, associated concentric lamellae and osteocytes
