Tinea pedis
Description
Itchy rash between toes
Excoriated, scaling erythema
Located on feet
Always think fungus if the crease or web of foot involved
Tinea pedis
Pathognomonic
Positive KOH
Tinea pedis treatment
- Topical “cidal” antifungal cream (Martin, lamisil, ertaczo)
- Oral antihistamine
Check for toenail involvement
Tinea corporis
Red, circular rash
Well demarcated
Erythematous with central clearing
Possible follicular involvement

Treatment
- STOP hydrocortisone
- Continue Martin cream
- Oral anti fungal (lamisil)
- Oral antihistamine for itch
Tinea versicolor
Multiple colored macules
Detected with wood light exam

Yellow/green colors, fluorescence

Treamtnet
- Ketoconazole shampoo on body
- Oral antifungal (sporanox)
Don’t use lamisil
Onchomycosis
Yellow, hypertrophic toenails
Onychomycosis test
PAS
Positive nail biopsy

Treatment
- Lamisil (monitor LFT)
- Oral antifungal (Sporanox/Diflucan)
- Topical antifungal (penlac/Julia)

Description
Long history of eczema
Excoriated eczematous
Large areas of lichenificaiton
Lichen simplex chronicus
Pathognomonic
Secondary to uncontrolled Atopic dermatitis

Treatment
- Underlying condition
- Oral antihistamines
- Topical corticosteroids
Lichen plants
Itchy bumps
Planar, polygonal, purple papules
