Itchy red rash
Maculopapular erythematous eruption
No drainage, warmth or induration

Most commonly reaction to a drug

- Stop the drug
- Oral antihistamine
- Cooling lotion (Sarna, eucerin)
Fixed drug eruption
Round pink spot
Single, well demarcated erythematous macular lesion
Fixed drug eruption
Pathognomonic
Appears in same spot repeatedly whenever you take the same agent
Appears periodically not all the time
Fixed drug eruption
Treatment
Stop the drug
Steven Johnson Syndrome
Dusky vesicles
Desquamation
Bullae and erosions of mucous membranes
Steven-Johnson syndrome
Less than 10% of skin surface affected
Less likely to die compared to TEN

Treatment
- Stop drug
- Ophthalmology consult
- Supportive care
Toxic epidermal necorlysis
Painful erosion to mucous membrane
Diffusely erythematous
Multiple bullae, desquamation
Toxic epidermal necrolysis
Pathognomonic
Nikolskys sign
30% of the body surface involved
More likely to die
Nikolsys sign
Gentle pressure easily produces epidermal detachment
Associated with toxic epidermal necrolysis

Treament
- Stop drug
- IV IgG
- Supportive Care
- Ophthalmology consult
