Adenosine

Indications: SVT

Contraindications: 2nd or 3rd degree heart block, AFib, WPW

Precautions: effects are decreased by caffeine, methylxanthines, and theophylline. Effects are increased by dipyridamole.

Adult dose: 6mg/flush, 12mg/flush, 12mg/flush

Pediatric dose: 0.1mg/kg. 2nd and 3rd dose @ 0.2mg/kg if needed

Dose: Vfib/pulseless vtach - 300mg 1st dose, 150mg 2nd dose

Dose: vtach w/pulse - 150mg over 10 minutes (150mg in 100mL bag)

Indications: bradycardia, organophosphate or nerve agent poisoning

Contraindications: AFib/Aflutter, hypothermia <90F

Bradycardia dose: 0.5mg q.3-5min, max 3.0mg
Poisoning dose: 2-5mg - OLMC for frequency

Pediatric dose: 0.02 mg/kg (minimum 0.1mg)

Supplied: 1000mg/10mL (100mg/mL)

Indications: hyperkalemia, CCB O.D, mag sulfate O.D., muscle spasms from black widow bites

Contraindications: none

Precautions: will precipitate if mixed with sodium bicarbonate, may enhance digitalis toxicity

Dosage: 2-4mg/kg over 5 minutes (OLMC required)
