A

Warm and moist skin

Tachycardia and A fib

Increased BVP and heart failure risk

Tremor and hyperreflexia

Excess sweating

Weight loss

Palpitations

What are dental aspects of thyroid disease?

A

Goitre can present and be detectable to dentist
- enlarged thyroid gland
- iodine deficiency or can be drug related

Avoid sedatives in severe hypothyroidism as severe respiratory depression can occur

Hyperthyroid patients can present with
- pain, anxiety and psychiatric issues
- caution for treatment until controlled
