A
Abnormally low neutrophils in body
- these are WBCs which fight infection - particularly bacterial
- make individuals more susceptible to infection

A
Low platelet count in the blood
- key role in blood clotting
- reduced efficacy of blood to clot

What is thalassemia? Considerations?
A
Inherited blood disorders characterised by abnormal haemoglobin production
Defect in globin chain, resulting in decreased production of normal haemoglobin
Resulting in anaemia
