What is phishing?
Phishing is when somebody attempts to gain personal information, through fraudulent means, by pretending to be somebody that they are not to gain the trust of the user.
What is hacking?
Hacking is the act of gaining access to a device or system without the authority to do so.
What are viruses?
Viruses are usually pieces of code that are on the system without the knowledge of the user.
What is trojan?
Trojan is when hackers gain access by misleading the user into allowing them access, usually by the user downloading through seemingly harmless data or information.
What is interception?
Interception is when somebody gains access to a file/database without authorisation.
What is eavesdropping?
Eavesdropping is when a form of verbal communication is intercepted, and as a result the hacker can hear everything the user does with the device. This allows them to gain access to information that may be spoken about.
What is data theft?
Data theft is when somebody steals computer-based information without the victim being aware to gain information or compromise the computer.
What is social engineering?
Social engineering is when people are manipulated into giving up information. This can lead to people giving up personal information or bank details.
