What are interpersonal skills?
Interpersonal skills are the everyday skills required to communicate and interact with others in the workplace. They are important for workers to have because they are representing the company, and need to interact with customers and other employees on a daily basis.
What are verbal skills?
Skills used to communicate with others in the workplace - useful in teamworking, meetings, presentations etc.
What are written skills?
Skills needed to formally communicate with somebody through writing, includes formal reports, e-mails etc.
What are some examples of non-verbal skills?
Body language, eye contact etc.
What are barriers to communication? (examples)
Language barriers, distance, technical language, different time zones, network reliability, technology reliability
Appropriate use of language in the workplace
Formal (customers), informal (colleagues), technical language and non-technical
