Coronary artery disease

A
  • Age ( greater than or equal to 65 females, and 55 males)
  • Known vascular disease
  • Pain worse with exercise
  • Cant reproduce pain with palpation
  • Patient assumes pain is from cardiac origin

  • Pain in epigastric region to middle thoracic spine
  • Triggered or relieved by eating
  • History of NSAIDS

Cholecystitis (inflammed gallbladder)

A
  • R upper quadrant and right infrascapular pain
  • Moderate fever, nausea, and vomiting (kidneys can have this too)
  • Symptoms occur 1-2 hours after a heavy meal
    • Murphys sign at R subcostal area
