Adhesive capsulitis stage 1
A
- Up to 3 months
- Sharp pain at end range
- Achy pain at rest
- Sleep disturbances
- Subacromial impingement may be suspected as primary dx
- Early loss of ER with intact RTC is hallmark sign

Adhesive capsulitis stage II
A
- 3-9 months
- painful “freezing” stage
- gradual loss of motion in all directions
- arthroscopy reveals aggressive synovitis/angiogenesis

A
- 9-15 months
- “frozen” stage
- pain and loss of ROM
- synovitis/angiogenesis lessens however has progressive CLC fibrosis

- pain that begins to resolve with stiffness that remains
