A
-Age >65
-parathesias in extremities
-Dangerous MOI
-MVA at high speeds (100k/hr), or involves rollover/ejection
-Fall from 1+ meter
-Bicycle collision/motorized recreational activity
Presence of 2 or more requires imaging

A
- sitting in ER
- ambulatory at time
- delayed onset of neck pain
- absence of midline tenderness
- minor MVA
- can rotate neck 45 degrees or more

NEXUS (low probability of injury)
A
- no midline tenderness
- no focal neuro deficits
- normal alertness
- no intoxication
- no painful/distracting injury

Predictors to benefit from cervical manipulation version A
Decreased pain, increased satisfaction, increased perception of condition
A
- Initial NDI score <11.5
- Bilateral symptoms
- Not performing sedentary work for more than 5 hours per day
- Feeling better when moving the neck
- Did not feel worse with extension
- Diagnosis of spondylosis without radiculopathy

Predictors to benefit from cervical manipulation version B
Decreased pain, increased satisfaction, increased perception of condition
A
- Symptoms less than 38 days
- Positive expectations that manipulation will help
- Side to side differences in c/s rotation ROM greater than or equal to 10 degrees
- Pain with PAs to mid c/s
