Hypothalamus.

What factors increase thirst? Name 2-3.
A
- Increase in osmotic pressure in plasma (sensed by the osmoreceptors of the hypothalamus)
- Decrease in ECF volume (sensed by the baroreceptors) - e.g. haemorrhage
- (optional extras: psychological, prandial drinking, etc.)

In what situations may thirst sensation be blunted?

Altered mental state (this is the most important one to say)
