Semantics
Set of rules by which we derive meaning
Ex. Adding -ed to the word laugh means it happened in the past.
Syntax
Rules for combining words into grammatically sensible sentences.
Babbling Stage
Various sounds, not imitating adult speech.
Ex. ah-goo
Two-word stage (Telegraphic Speech)
Starts to speak in two-word sentences
Ex. “Go car”
