Q

The Moon rotates

A
  • The Moon spins around on its own axis
  • It takes about 28 days to rotate once
  • This means that in almost a month the Moon has rotated once and the Earth 28 times!
  • As the Moon rotates, one side faces the Sun and is lit - The other side faces away from the Sun and is dark. - The Moon is a rocky body that does not give off its own light
  • It only shines because of the Sun’s light falling on it
  • In the picture, the right side of the Moon is facing the Sun and is lit
  • The left side is facing away from the Sun and is dark.
