Who was Martin Luther?
He was called a heretic by the pope and the religious community (he was a Protestant against the church). Then he was excommunicated by the Pope.
What were some of the effects of the reformation
- They were wars in Germany, Netherlands, England and Switzerland between catholics and Protestants
- Elizabeth I orders for her sister—Mary I— to be beheaded as she is a catholic

- Spain tried to invade England as they were lots of Protestants

What happened in the reformation?
In the reformation the church split into two, Catholic and Protestant. Many people disagrees with the fact that the church had all the power because of the indulgences, high taxes, they had the most money, the bible was in only one language- Latin so ordinary people couldn’t read and enjoy their OWN religion.
