Q

what did the radical revolutionaries do

A

In this very dangerous time for France it was perhaps not surprising that radical revolutionaries might decide to suspend many of the freedoms they promised in 1789.
the time for freedoms promised in the declaration of rights of man and citizen might have to wait until the nation was safe

Q

why was 1792 dangerous

A

1792 is very dangerous for many reasons; the emigres seemed to be recruiting support for a counter revolution, the convention was fighting a war against Austria and Prussia, it seemed that foreign nations, aristocrats and the clergy wanted to restore the ancient regime and put king Louie back on the throne as absolute monarch, in some very religious areas civil wars broke out between revolutionaries and those who wanted the government to restore the church to its traditional place in society, riots and lawlessness and disorder took place
