Although the French Revolution originated in Paris which was the capital city of France, the people in the country were most affected as they experienced firsthand the food shortages and high taxes

the reign of terror was an especially unpleasant period from 1793 to 1794 and ended when Maximilian Robespierre was killed
why was MR arrested
he was arrested by political rivals which suggested he was out of control and drunk with power
who was MR
Maximilian Robespierre was a politician and widely known as one of the most influential yet controversial people of the French Revolution
what did the CoPS do
the committee of public safety ruled France, and these revolutionaries were members of the Jacobin club
what did MR want to do
Maximilian Robespierre wanted to remove any threats to the revolution, and it turns out the committee of public safety was not actually safe
what was it like
it was a dream to a nightmare
during this time, how were people killed
during this time thousands were arrested and executed by guillotine and this includes many nobles, clergy, rivals to Robespierre, king Louis the 16th and Marie Antoinette

the 1st and 2nd estates enslaved, taxed, and exploited the third estate and almost everybody else
