When and why were the PLO expelled from Jordan

A

1970

  • King Hussein feared the Israeli reprisals and he didn’t like the fact that the PLO acted like they owned Jordan
  • Then 4 aircraft were hijacked by PFLP and 3 taken to Jordan where the people demanded Palestinian fighters should be released
  • after this king Hussein his army took over PLO bases and the remaining fighters went to Syria and Lebanon
