A
- Nature: Genetic Inheritance and other biological factors
- Nurture: Influence of external factors, such as social and environmental factors.

Nature - Gesell’s Maturation Theory
A
- Biological determined by birth
- Children to find the skills and abilities that most children had in each age group.
- Milestones e.g. Sitting, standing, cruising, walking
- Predetermined
- A child with learning difficulties may experience delayed development due to learning difficulties since birth

Nurture - Bandura’s Social Learning Theory
A
- Observe behavior of others.
- 1) Child observes behavior, role model, admire, parent or sibling
- 2) Internalizes the action
- 3) May not copy straight away but reproduce behavior when opportunities occur.
- 4) Child will decide whether to repeat behavior or not depending on the positive or negative outcome.

A
- Stress caused by life event (nurture) can interact with an individuals genetic vulnerability (nature) to impact n their mental wellbeing.
- Nurture + Nature = Psychological ill-health
