What is metabolism
The series of chemical reactions required for life i.e respiration
Where are the kidneys found and what are they
they are paired organ system found at the back of the abdominal cavity just above the belly button
What are the three functions of the kidney
1) remove urea from the blood
2) adjustment of ions in the blood
3) adjustment of water content in the blood
Where is urea made ?
In the liver
Describe the bigger diagram of the kidneys
The blood enters the kidneys via the renal artery the blood gets filtered in the kidneys and the clean blood exits via the renal vein the waste is filtered through the ureters into the bladder in which it is exited via the urethra
Describe the diagram of the kidneys
The outside is the cortex and then you have Medullas which are surrounded by renal pyramids that lead into the ureter
Where does the filtering of the blood specifically take place
In the nephrons
What is excretion ?
The removal of toxic waste products of metabolism from the body
