Meaning of the crucifixion
The crucifixion refers to how Jesus was crucified, which means he was nailed to a wooden cross and left to hang there until death
Meaning of the resurrection
The resurrection refers to when Jesus rose from the dead - came back
Meaning of the ascension
The ascension refers to Jesus’ end of life and work on Earth, and how he ascended to heaven
What is the importance of the incarnation to Christians?
It’s importance is that Jesus’ life on Earth provided the perfect example of how God wants every person to live
What is the importance of the crucifixion to Christians?
It’s importance is that Jesus suffered the full pain of a human death, so Christians believe Jesus can understand human suffering because of his death
What is the importance of the resurrection to Christians?
Christians believed that Jesus’ resurrection proved he was truly God and man, but also that God had approved of the sacrifice and it as sufficient to pay the debt of human sin
What is the importance of the ascension to Christians?
Christians believe the rising of Jesus represents the success of good over evil, and that he lives alongside God and reigns with him
