What is a mission?
A mission is a task or job that a person or organisation is given to do. It explains the purpose of the organisation and what they’d like to achieve.
What is the mission for Christians?
Many Christians believed their mission was to take the Christian with to everywhere in the world and convert all people to Christianity, believing all other religions are wrong (evangelism)
What does evangelism mean?
Evangelism is the preaching of the faith in order to convert people to that religion
What do the Salvation Army believe about evangelism?
The Salvation Army have a strong tradition of evangelism and exists to ‘save souls, grow saints and serve a suffering humanity’
What is evangelism in practice?
Evangelism in practice means promoting the Christian religion by performing good acts and helping them to make them Christian

The Christian Church is not about the building where Christians meet but is rather about the gathering together God’s people. Community is often understood to be at the heart of Christian life
Reasons for the growth of new forms of Church
The Church describes what Christian people are, and how they behave and act throughout the week, rather than simply being an event on Sunday morning
