What is salvation?
Salvation is restoring the relationship between God and mankind
What is atonement?
Atonement is a word used to describe something that makes amends or pays for having done something wrong

Where God in Christ reconciles (restores friendly relations) the world to himself
What is law’s function?
Law’s function is to identify sin by laying down commandments
What is sin?
Sin can be based upon Pauline’s views - all have sinned and fallen short of the mark

What is Grace?
Grace is God’s redemptive love to save sinners
The role of Christ in salvation
Christ had sacrificed himself and payed the ransom to God for the sins and sinners in the world
Issue - the belief in forgiveness and receptacle for all
Christians believe that in order to be saved they need to say sorry to God for their sins and ask for forgiveness. They accept God’s help to live a good life

What do many Christians believe about Jesus’ death?
Many Christians believed that Jesus was a sacrifice that paid for human sin.
What did Jesus becoming human show?
It showed that humans could achieve a union with God which allows them to be saved
What do Roman Catholics believe about the need for salvation?
They believe themselves to be saved by being baptised and belonging to the Church. Their ongoing participation in sacraments shows their salvation
