What were zeppelins?
A
They were huge inflatable airships the Germans flew over Britain to bomb British towns.

Why was there rationing?
A
Britain was short of food because German submarines and battleships were sinking the boats that brought it by sea. Each person was allowed a set amount of butter, sugar, bacon, ham, and so on.

How did people get food supplies?
A
They had ration cards and had to make the food last for a whole week.
