Q

What do each of the chambers do?

A

Right Atrium - recieves blood from the body and passes it to the right ventricle.
RIght Ventricle - pumps blood to the lungs
Left Atrium - receives blood from the lungs and passes it to the left ventricle.
Left Ventricle - pumps blood to the body.

Q

Where are the atrioventricular valves, and what are the tendons that they hold onto called?

A

Between the atria and ventricles.

Edges of the tissue are held by chordae tendineae (the tendons), that attach to the heart of papillary muscle.

Q

Where is blood pressure usually recorded?

A

Usually recorded from the brachial artery in the arm, just above the elbow.

17
Q

What is the pressure of blood like in the vein?

A

Venous pressure is much lower than arterial blood pressure.

18
Q

What is blood pressure measured by?

A

A sphygmomanometer, values are reported in millimetres of mercury (mmHg)
