What are the four chambers of the heart?
The Atria which are the Upper chambers. Contains Right atrium and Left atrium.
The Ventricles which are the Lower chambers. Contains Right and left ventricles.
Name the four valves of the heart.
The four valves are:
- Tricuspid valve
- Mitral valve
- Pulmonary valve
- Aortic valve
What are the names of the two circulatory pathways of the heart
The pulmonary which is on the right and the systemic pathway
What does the right side of the heart do?
The right side of the heart pumps to the pulmonary circulation - pumping low oxygenated blood to the lungs to be oxygenated.
What does the left side of the heart do?
The left side pumps to the systemic circulation - pumping the freshly oxygenated blood to the remainder of the body where it delivers oxygen and nutrients
