The Heart Flashcards
What is the coronary sulcus?
A deep grove that marks the border between the atrial chambers and the ventricle chambers
What are the interventricular sulci?
2
Sulci found between the ventria - they are shallow depression
Called the anterior and posterior interventricular sulci
How does excitation in the heart spread?
2
The SA node passes signal to atrial muscle and also to the AV node
The AV node passes signal to ventricle muscle
In what chamber is the moderator band located in?
The right ventricle
What are the tubes that you can see along the walls of the chambers of the heart?
Papillary muscles
What are the strings you see in the heart?
Chordae tendineae/heart strings
What type of valve is found at the entrance of the aorta?
Aortic semilunar valve
What type of valve is found between the right atrium and ventricle?
AV tricuspid valve
What type of valve is found between the left atrium and the left ventricle?
AV bicuspid valve
Where are the semilunar valves found?
2
At the entrance of the aorta
At the entrance of the pulmonary artery
Where is the tricuspid valve found?
Between the right atrium and ventricle
Where is the bicuspid valve found?
Between the left atrium and ventricle
