What does parliment react to?
legislation put infront of ot either by voting for/against or proposing amendments to bills
What is the work of party whips?
They strongarm MPs to instruct party MPs how to vote

the British Conservative Party withdrew the whip from 21 of its MPs who had voted against the Government.

What are ministers duties?
Ministers have duty to explain/defend policy. Most Govt. departments are represented by a Junior minister from HOL.
What happend in 2010 to give backbenchers more say in parliment?
2010 the creation of Backbench Business committee has given backbenchers more sway in agenda.

What do Lords do and how are they represented.
Lords tend to provide expert oversight of legislation. Not representative, 50%+ over 70, 95% white and 75% male.
