The Fate Of The Wicked Flashcards
What does the Bible teach concerning the lostness of man and the inevitable results of remaining lost?
We are alienated from God because of sin (no matter how you come to believing that sin was introduced into humanity).
Without God (i.e., alienation from God), we are under the bondage of sin and Satan (this is the bondage of our will)
This bondage leaves us open to condemnation (judgement of sin by God’s wrath) by God, which leads to eternal death
Along side this we total depravity - a corrupt nature
Alienation —> Reconciliation (Rom 5:10)
Bondage —> Redemption (Rom 8:2)
Condemnation —> Justification (Rom 5:18)
Depravity —> Regeneration (Rom 6:4-6)
Eternal Death —> Eternal Life (Rom 6:23)
What is the future destiny of those who die without ever hearing the Gospel?
They are eternally separated from God
Romans 1:18-23 - Humans aren’t guilty because they don’t have faith, but because they are inherently corrupted due to sin
“So will God condemn the innocent tribesman who has never heard the name of Christ? No, because there are no innocent tribesmen”
This speaks to when Dr. Coljn said that what to believe about the ‘lost’ really depends on what you believe about humanity and its inherent condition…do we all have sin inherently in us? Do we all have God inherently in us?
If I believe that atonement (forgiveness of sin and right standing) only come from belief in Christ, it stands to reason that those who have not come to Christ will be eternally separated from God. This is the entire reason for the great commission.
What is your conception of ‘eternal punishment’? State you personal view of Bible teaching concerning hell.
Is there any possibility at all of the regeneration and salvation of the wicked subsequent to death?
The scriptures seem to teach no, but who am I to say what God will do subsequent to death.
What do you understand the Bible to teach concerning heaven?
