A
  • PG failed to improve working conditions in factories
  • Rising prices, food shortages resulted in more strikes - workers were becoming more radical - Bolsheviks looked more appealing
  • in Feb 17 membership of Bolshevik party 10’000, Sep 17 300’000

A
  • most popular political party amongst peasants was the SR’s - focused most of their policies on meeting demands of peasants e.g. redistribution of land
  • PG still losing land as it had done in cities
