Describe fully the process of Eutrophication
A
- Fertiliser goes onto land
- Rains and fertiliser is absorbed by soil
- Fertiliser is transported to lake by underground water
- This results in an overgrowth of algae and aquatic plants
- Sunlight can’t reach the bottom of the lake - algae dies
- Bacteria decomposes algae using up all the Oxygen making the lake anoxic
- All living organisms in the lake die
