Any methods that provide evidence based on direct experience rather than a reasoned argument. These methods seek to report on the world as it really is.
2

A
Allows psychologists between what is real truth in the world and what is simply an unfounded belief.
3
Q
What is a problem with empiricism in psychology?
A
Variables measured in psychology can be more difficult to directly experience in the same way than in other sciences (happiness or intelligence) so it makes it even more important that the methods used are well-controlled and objective.
