The extent to which scientific procedures and findings can be repeated by other researchers to see if similar findings can be achieved.

Why is replicability an important feature of a science?
A
- Check if results are reliable (consistent).
- Builds confidence that findings are trustworthy and represent real effects.
- Well-controlled methods determine a high internal validity.
- Can identify scientific fraud.
- Can see if findings can be generalised (external validity).

What should psychologists be clear about so that the research is easy to replicate?
A
- Aims, hypotheses, and methods (what they did)
- Procedures (how it was carried out)
- How participants were selected and allocated into conditions
- Location of study
- What raw data was collected and how this was analysed.
