-Treatment such as ssri help reduce the symptoms of depression which then prevents absentness from places such as school or work saving the economy money from reduced sick payments.

- As the costs pf treatments are expensive, for example prescription costs and private healthcare also the increased stress of the nhs to provide services with little funding
